Bishop Jonathan Tate is the pastor of The Anointed Temple A.O.H. Church of God where he has served 52 years. During his tenure, accomplishments of Bishop Tate include overseeing the building of a new edifice on seven acres of land in 1999. Bishop Tate endeavored and succeeded in paying the Church and all its content off in 5 years. Bishop Tate emerged along the ranks of Elder, serving under The Late Bishop W.T. Phillips, founder of the Apostolic Overcoming Holy Church of God. Later, he was appointed the Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas District Overseer, serving under The Late Senior Bishop Jasper Roby. Presently, he serves as the Mississippi, Louisiana & Texas Diocese Bishop under A.O.H. Presiding Prelate, Bishop G.W. Ayers.
Bishop Tate is the husband of one wife, Reverend Mother Shirley Tate, who has worked alongside him, faithfully. He is the father of seven children, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Bishop Tate is considered a notable spiritual leader in the South Mississippi region by government, church and civic leaders. He has received numerous honors from organizations such as the NAACP, the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, and a special Bishop’s Award given to him from The Late Bishop Jasper Roby. Bishop Tate, his wife and family were chosen to star in a long-running commercial for a local bank. He holds the degree of Master of Theology in Biblical Studies and is a Certified Counselor.
Bishop Tate is considered as the “Remnant Preacher of the Old Path.” His prosperity and longevity is the direct result of the characteristics he demonstrates in love, humility, faithfulness, and dedication to God.
